I’m really late to the game on DSLR video and have been messing around with audio options.  I had to return a Zoom last week, and got this new recorder from Tascam instead.  It records clean sound, has two battery options, and doesn’t feel so cheap!  I recommend it, folks.  It’s the Tascam DR-100mkII.  (Note the mkii on this, it’s the newer, improved model.) Also: I tried a cheaper model, the Tascam DR-40 and had to return that too because it was giving me a weird “helicopter” noise.
